Argo – 2012

Life is not always thrilling. Most films based on true events have a slow swell, but on occasion there are real-life events that are so intense they beg to be made into films. One such example is Argo. Argo is based on the true story of a CIA operative who is sent to Iran to rescue six U.S. citizens who are in hiding in Tehran. Ben Affleck plays real-life operative Tony Mendez who creates a fake movie to give them the appropriate cover to be in Iran. The film takes a little while to build, but the realistic intensity of the film makes it much more thrilling and keeps the viewer on the edge of the seat. Ben Affleck does a great job as both actor and director and earns the praise that he received for his effort.

Intense and far-fetched, this film almost doesn’t seem like it could have happened.

This film earns a lot of points from me, so I’m going to give this one…

4.5 out of 5
