Apollo 11 – 2019

  • Originality: Documentaries exist in a different category of originality since they highlight something that has already been done or something that is ongoing. The idea or compiling all of the footage from the Apollo 11 expedition doesn’t feel original, but this film plays like a thriller as it draws its audience in so completely that it feels like it’s happening live.   • Technicality: The way that this film is assembled is what gives this film its technical brilliance. Todd Douglas Miller took all of the real footage and put it together to tell this story exactly as it was intended to be told. The editing of this film is so good that this could have easily been a live broadcast which makes it one of the most realistic documentaries I’ve ever seen. [5.0]
  • Rewatchability: It’s safe to say that this film begs to be rewatched at least once a year if not more often. Some documentaries bear truly heavy material, but this film represents the greatest accomplishment in human history and should be seen by everyone at least once. This film represents history in a way that everyone can appreciate and everyone should [4.5]
