Watchmen is one of the greatest graphic novels written in the last thirty years and the film version is the brainchild of Zack Snyder. This film features some great performances, including Jackie Earle Haley and Patrick Wilson. Though it deviates a little bit from the original comic its themes ring true.
Winter Soldier comes from the minds of the Russo brothers and it is more of a political thriller than anything else. The film works on a number of levels and it makes one of the most bland superheroes interesting. It also features one of the best villains of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Robert Redford is as amazing as ever.
Watchmen is an impressive film and features some truly impressive effects, while Winter Soldier maintains a sense of practicality. My choice to advance to the next round is…
