32 years. I took 32 years to return to the beloved characters from the greatest sci-fi saga of all time. Sure, there were the prequels, but it never felt right when there was a universe of Skywalker and Solo that needed to be revisited. The great J.J. Abrams took a swing at this film and created an epic sequel that lived up to and beyond the expectations of fans. This film created fun and fresh characters, while never forgetting its roots and the characters that made it a phenomenon. The plot of the film might seem a little similar to the original Star Wars, but in most ways these similarities amplify the feelings of nostalgia and make the film all the more enjoyable. Emotional and exciting, this film is the right kind of fun.
It’s so good to see these characters again and to go back to a galaxy far, far away.
