Murder on the Orient Express – 1974

Agatha Christie is a master of the mystery novel and her most famous tale is easily, Murder on the Orient Express. This film, like the novel is rich with suspense and the trademark wit that made Christie the premiere author of the mystery genre. Albert Finney’s take on her most famous character, Poirot, is charming and entertaining, but a little reserved. This film offers a cast of well-known actors, including Sean Connery, Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Vanessa Redgrace, Anthony Perkins, and Martin Balsam. Each brings a unique energy to the film and each one is suspicious in one way or another, making the investigation that much harder. This film is a standout in the mystery genre and can be appreciated by Christie fans and newcomers alike.

One of the best mysteries on the past fifty years and still mysterious after many viewings.

For its twists and turns, this deserves a high-rating alone, but coupled with the acting it gets…
