Sequels are always a risk. There are dozens of occurrences that have failed and ruined the reputation of the original. The Toy Story franchise has fostered a reputation for creating sequels that were as good, if not better, than the prior installment. The first Toy Story movie is about the rivalry between Buzz and Woody, but there is no denying that the focus of the movie is Buzz and his acceptance of his true identity. The sequel offers the same chance to Woody who is confronted with new information about his past that creates a wrinkle in his future with Andy and his friends. This film repeated the success of the first one and added new layers to a concept that was already one of the most original films of all time.
The first Toy Story was fantastic and this one is the same.
A sequel deserving of the same score as its predecessor…
