Not exactly veiled in its message, this film is so visually stunning that it doesn’t matter what it stands for, people want to watch it. James Cameron invested a lot of his life into this film and even waited for the technology to catch up so that he could make it. The film follows a soldier who takes his brother’s place in a mission to learn about an alien species on the planet of Pandora. Naturally, he finds himself drawn to their culture and finds himself compromised in his mission. The film goes above and beyond the previous efforts in CGI and set a high standard for all future motion-capture movies. The message of the film might be an attempted apology to the Native Americans or it might just be a great sci-fi film.
The highest-grossing film of all-time, so I doubt anyone hasn’t already seen it.
A great end to the decade and a great start to a new type of film, for which it gets…
