Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman are a powerhouse team when it comes to making movies, and it all started here. With fantastic performances by Ellen Page, J.K. Simmons, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, and Allison Janney, this film takes wit and elevates it to a new level. The film follows pregnant teenager Juno (Ellen Page) who decides to give her child up to a well-meaning couple who have been trying to have one of their own. The film addresses a lot of serious issues, including teen pregnancy and abortion, but the most prevalent issue is the fragility of relationships as Juno’s relationship with the father of her child faces a number of hurdles and the couple receiving her child face the stress of becoming parents. The film is well written and directed and was one of the greatest films of 2007 for a reason.
This film is a great teen dramedy that can be appreciated by all ages.
