I have just finished watching a film called Jagten (The Hunt). This Danish film focuses on a Kindergarten teacher, Lucas, who is accused by a student of sexual abuse. Though the student is lying, it causes a great deal of problems for Lucas since his accuser is the daughter of his best friend. Mads Mikkelsen’s subtlety conveys a sympathetic man who has been wronged and feels the stress and anger of his situation boiling up over time. There is a lot to look for in this film and it is thanks to direction from Thomas Vinterberg that every angle is shown and every perspective given its due course.
I recommend watching this film, but it was pretty stressful so be prepared.
Disconcerting, but it needs to be recognized with…
